Rui Macher Bori Jhol, Rohu Fish Curry with Vadi

Rui Mach or Rohu fish is  Bengal’s everyday fish.

Serving Size: 4

Cooking Time: 40 mins

Ingredients:

  1. 250 gm Rohu Fish
  2. 1 Potato
  3. 1 Eggplant
  4. Cauliflower
  5. 1 Green Chilly
  6. Salt
  7. Sugar
  8. 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  9. 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
  10. 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  11. 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  12. 1 tsp Ginger Paste
  13. 1 Tomato
  14. Bori

Cooking procedure:


Cut the eggplant, cauliflower and potato in a medium size.

Take the good pieces of fish and clean it with water pat it dry. Marinate with salt and turmeric powder.

Heat oil in non stick kadai and shallow fry the fish. Keep aside the fish pieces.

Now fry all the vegetables

Put rest of the oil in the kadai and cumin seeds to crackle in oil . Then add the ginger paste , green chilly , tomato , salt , turmeric powder , sugar to taste and the fried vegetables .
Pour water and the fried fish . Cover, lower the heat and simmer gently for 5-8 minutes.

Serving Suggestions:


There you go..rui maacher jhol is ready to be served with steamed rice! Try it. I just made the same stuff for dinner tonight.
