A chutney in the bengali context is a sweetened relish.It is served towards the end of the meal.

Ingredients:
- Tomato
- Raisin
- Dates
- Sugar
- Salt
- Turmeric Powder
- Mustard Seeds
- Saunf
Cooking Procedure:
Cut the tomatoes, dates (remove the seed and cut into 2 pieces) and raisin.
Heat oil in kadai then add Mustard Seeds and Saunf to crackle in oil . Then pour tomatoes ,turmeric powder and little bit of salt . Cover the lid for 5-10 mins. Occasionally stir well.
Now add dates , raisin and sugar . If necessary add water .
