Mixed Vegetable Sambar (Bengali Style)

Sambar is most popular items in south India cuisine.But I prepared in Bengali style.

Serving Size: 4

Cooking Time: 40 mins

Ingredients:

  1. 1 Cup Mussor Dal
  2. 1 Cup Toor Dal
  3. Salt
  4. 1 Onion
  5. 1 Egg Plant
  6. 1 Carrot
  7. 1 Potato
  8. Beans
  9. 5/6 Parwal
  10. Salt
  11. Mustard Seeds
  12. Dried Red Chilly
  13. Sugar
  14. 1 Tomato
  15. Sugar
  16. Sambar Powder
  17. Turmeric Powder
  18. 1Squash
  19. 1 Reddish

Cooking Procedure:

Boil both the dal with turmeric powder and salt.

Chop all the vegetables

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium flame. When hot put in the mustard seeds and dried red chilly

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium flame. When hot put in the kala jeera. Ten seconds later, put in the okra and stir. Stir and fry the okra on a medium-low heat for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Ten seconds later, put all the vegetables and stir. Stir and fry it on a medium-low heat for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Add the boiled dal with tomato.Pour  spice mixture and the green chillies. Bring to a simmer. Cover, lower the heat and simmer gently for 5-8 minutes .

Serving Suggestion:

Sambar is ready to serve with hot rice .
